DASHDOWNS' self-produced EP, 3 from me, is the vibey ying to 30 years of Midwestern rock twang, drenched in loose vocal harmonies & guitars and Mastered by Andrew Garver (Ozzy Osbourne, Madonna, Rage Against The Machine).
English-born, Chicago-raised musician Dave Ashdown ('Dashdown') is a member of NYC based WAITING FOR HENRY, formed in 2011 with Dave Slomin of Mr. Henry, set to release their 3rd 'disc' this summer, a 6-song-EP recorded by Tommy Stinson (The Replacements, Bash 'N Pop, Guns 'N Roses). Their most recent release, Town Called Patience, was recorded by Mitch Easter (R.E.M.,Drive By Truckers) and mixed by 7-Time-Grammy-Winner Darrell Thorpe and hailed by John Apice at NoDepression as "a masterwork". In 2013, Bill Hurley of TheAlternateRoot declared the band a 'Top 30 Contemporary Artist' on the strength of their debut, Ghosts & Compromise, produced by Joe Del'Aquilla (Gaslight Anthem). DASHDOWN's rock lineage includes several benchmark Chicago indie acts and albums, including 3 by the prolific brothers BRAAM, BOOM HANK's scrappy debut Nuisance produced by Brad Wood (Liz Phair, Pete Yorn, Ben Lee), BILLHOUSE's Welcome To The Smalltime as well as recordings with TOMORROW THE MOON, THESE PEACHES, DUSTY WRIGHT, MARATHON MAN, THE NURV and ROLLOVER. In 2010, DASHDOWN released Rock & Roll Vacation, described by Joe Warzyniak at JerseyBeat as "Raw’n’ragged, no-nonsense meat and potatoes rock & roll delivered with a rare dearth of pretense". |
